What is the difference between AIR , PRO and ULTRA e-bike models?

"AIR" are the entry-level version (ex: Air20, Air28. Air30).

What you get:

  • Lightweight frame (often foldable)
  • Basic motor (still good, usually Bafang)
  • Torque sensor (smooth pedaling)
  • Belt drive (quiet, low maintenance on newer Air series)

Suitable for low inclined slopes.  Think: simple, clean commuter

"PRO" are the mid-tier upgraded performance version (Air20 Pro, Air28 Pro, Air30 Pro)

Key upgrades vs Air:

  • Automatic 2-speed motor/gear system
  • Better hill climbing & acceleration
  • Ride feels more refined (AI assist system on newer models)
  • Often better components (brakes, suspension, display)

Great city and leisure bike .  Think: best value / sweet spot

"ULTRA" are the highest-end and top performance version (Air20 Ultra, Air28 Ultra, Air30 Ultra)

Key upgrades vs Pro:

  • Automatic 3-speed internal gearing (instead of 2-speed)
  • Power delivery is smoother
  • Better for steep hills and variable terrain
  • Heavier riders or cargo

Think: maximum performance + versatility

What is Pedal Assist vs. Throttle?

Pedal Assist offers motor power while you pedal, while the throttle allows you to accelerate without pedaling.

What maintenance do e-bikes need?

Besides charging the battery, maintenance is similar to a regular bike, including regular chain lubrication (for models with chains and not carbon belts) and checking tire pressure.

Battery FAQ

What is a seat-post battery?

A seat-post battery is a removable lithium-ion battery integrated inside the seat post, offering a clean design, better weight distribution, and added protection.

Which ADO models use a seat-post battery?

This battery system is used on selected ADO models including:

  • 20 Pro / 20 Ultra
  • Carbon / Carbon Pro
  • 28 Pro / 28 Ultra
  • 30 Pro / 30 Ultra

Is the battery removable?

Yes. The seat-post battery is fully removable for charging, storage, or security.

Can I charge the battery on or off the bike?

Yes. You can charge it:

  • Directly on the bike, or
  • Removed indoors using the supplied charger.

How long does charging take?

A full charge typically takes 4 to 6 hours.

What range can I expect?

Typical range is 40 to 100 km, depending on assist level, rider weight, terrain, temperature, and riding style.

How many charge cycles does the battery support?

The battery supports approximately 600–800 full charge cycles, retaining about 70–80% capacity afterward.

Is the battery weather-resistant?

Yes. It is designed for everyday riding, including rain and light snow.
Avoid submersion or pressure washing.

Does removing the seat post affect saddle height settings?

No. The seat post has height markings, allowing easy repositioning. Once optimal height has been determined, note the line number mark so that it can be quickly set-up when reinstalling the seat post.

Can I ride the bike without the battery?

Yes. The bike functions as a standard bicycle without electric assistance.

How should I store the battery in winter?

  • Store indoors in a dry place
  • Ideal temperature: 10–20°C
  • Keep charge between 50–70%
  • Recharge every 2–3 months

Is the battery replaceable?

Yes. Always use an official ADO replacement battery to ensure safety and warranty coverage.

Is the battery protected against theft?

The battery includes a locking system, but removing it when parked for long periods is recommended.

Does cold weather affect battery performance?

Yes. Cold temperatures may temporarily reduce battery range. Performance returns when temperatures rise.
